Authorities are advising the public to be cautious in their behavior to avoid disturbing the elephants, who will be in the city until the end of the Dasara festivities. The countdown to Dasara has officially begun in Mysuru, with the city's revered Dasara elephants beginning their rehearsals for the impressive Jamboo Savaari procession. This procession covers a five-kilometer route along the main streets, starting at the palace and ending at Bannimantap grounds. During this time, the elephants get accustomed to various noises like those from vehicles, loudspeakers, firecrackers, and cannons. The acclimatization exercises take place twice a day, in the morning and evening. Crowds gather to witness the elephants, especially on weekends when more people come to photograph the procession led by Abhimanyu, the Howdah elephant. It is important for the public to be considerate and avoid disturbing the elephants, following guidelines to ensure the safety and well-being of the animals. The Jamboo Savaari is a prominent procession held on Vijayadashami, the final day of the Dasara festival, featuring adorned elephants, colorful floats, and cultural performances.
